Find Rankin County Booking Photos

Rankin County jail mugshots are tied to current jail roster profiles, not a separate public photo gallery. People trying to find Rankin County booking photos should start with the county jail roster, open the inmate profile, and check whether front or side photos are available in the modal. Mississippi public-record access is broader than the online roster, but booking photos can still be affected by exemptions, redactions, release status, juvenile limits, expunction orders, and records that were not generated by the sheriff's office.

Rankin Jail Mugshots

Rankin County's current-inmates roster says users can click an inmate's name to view booking information, charges, and mugshots. The public table does not show thumbnail mugshots in the main row. Photos appear after the user opens the inmate modal, where the roster can show two public photo positions: a front mugshot and a side mugshot. The roster is tied to the Sheriff's Department operated by Sheriff Bryan Bailey. If neither image is available, the modal says no photos are available.

No official recent-bookings gallery, released-inmate mugshot archive, daily booking photo PDF, or countywide "most wanted" booking-photo gallery was found in the Rankin County research. That makes the current roster and the sheriff's public-records request form the two practical county channels. A current inmate may have a photo online, while a released person's photo or booking report generally requires a request because the online roster covers current inmates only.

The Rankin County current-inmates roster is the source for the public profile modal where front and side mugshot slots appear.

The roster view shows why a name search comes before a photo search: the booking image is inside the selected inmate profile rather than on the main results table.

Find Rankin Mugshots

The photo path is direct when the person is still listed as a current inmate. Search or filter the roster, then open the person's profile. The modal's left photo column is where the front and side mugshots appear if the data source includes them. The roster data source contains mugshots.A and mugshots.B image fields, but public display still depends on whether those fields are present for the selected inmate.

  1. Open the Adult Detention Center portal or direct current-inmates roster.
  2. Use the Name filter to narrow the current roster.
  3. Click the inmate's name to open the modal profile.
  4. Check the photo column for Front Mugshot and Side Mugshot.
  5. If no photo appears, call jail information at 601-825-1479 or use the public-records request form.
  6. For a released person, request the booking report or booking photo because no released-inmate photo archive was found.

The Adult Detention Center information portal gives the official entry cards for current inmate search and the full current roster.

Rankin Booking Photo Fields

A Rankin roster profile pairs the photo area with booking and arrest fields. The record can show a booking number, jail ID, name, age, height, weight, eye and hair codes, sex and race codes, arrest date, arresting agency, arrest location, booking date, first court date if populated, scheduled release if populated, charge descriptions, per-offense bond, total bond, and the front and side mugshot slots. The address area is not a residential disclosure; the modal states that address is not displayed.

FieldWhat It Shows
Front MugshotThe primary booking photo slot, labeled as the A mugshot in roster data when available.
Side MugshotThe secondary side-view booking photo slot, labeled as the B mugshot when available.

Rankin Mugshot Public Access

Mississippi's Public Records Act begins from the rule that public records are available for inspection unless the act or another law provides otherwise. That does not mean every booking photo must appear online, and it does not mean every request will be released without redaction. Rankin's sheriff records policy allows release of incident-report information and the name, address, and age of a charged and arrested adult or juvenile under adult jurisdiction. The same policy limits investigative material, sex-crime victim identity, victim or witness information where disclosure could prejudice an investigation or endanger someone, juvenile identity and address except by Youth Court order, confidential records, privileged records, and records not generated by the sheriff's department.

Public-record limits: Miss. Code Title 25, Chapter 61 is the Mississippi Public Records Act. Rankin applies a seven-working-day response rule and provides a written explanation when records cannot be produced within that period, with production no later than 14 working days absent agreement.

Miss. Code § 43-21-261 is cited by Rankin's policy for juvenile identity and address limits. Miss. Code § 99-19-71 provides expunction paths for eligible cases, but it does not create automatic online mugshot removal for every arrest.

Request Rankin Booking Photos

A booking photo that is not visible on the current roster should be requested through the Rankin County Sheriff's Department public-records process. The form includes a Booking Report checkbox, so the request can ask for a booking report, booking photo, or both. The request should identify the person, approximate arrest or booking date, and related incident or agency information. Broad or vague requests can be returned for clarification.

The required request packet includes the completed form, a $10 check payable to Rankin County Sheriff's Department, a copy of the requester's valid government-issued photo ID, and a self-addressed stamped envelope if mailed records are requested. Submission is by hand delivery during normal business hours or by U.S. Mail to Rankin County Sheriff's Department, Attn: Public Records Request Official, 221 N. Timber St., Brandon, MS 39042. Fax and email requests are not accepted under the county policy.

What is public and what is not: A current roster profile may show front and side mugshots, charges, booking fields, and bond estimates. Investigative reports, protected victim or witness information, juvenile records, confidential records, and records outside RCSD control may be withheld or redacted.

Rankin Mugshot Limits

The research did not find a county-published retention window for how long a Rankin booking photo stays visible after release. The safer reading is that the current-inmates roster is a current custody tool. Once a person is no longer listed, the public photo path shifts from the roster modal to the sheriff public-records form. The county also did not publish a separate recent-bookings photo feed, so searching only for a gallery can miss the official process.

Removal is different from non-display. A profile may lack a mugshot because no public photo is present in the roster data, because the person is no longer on the current roster, or because another record limit applies. Expunction and sealing issues should be handled through the court process, then raised with the agency or publisher that controls the record. The county roster cannot control third-party publishers, and no commercial mugshot-publishing site should be treated as an official Rankin County source.

A request should also distinguish between a correction, an access request, and a court-clearing action. A correction asks the record holder to fix an error in its own file. An access request asks RCSD to locate and release a nonexempt record. An expunction or sealing request belongs in court and depends on Mississippi eligibility rules, case outcome, waiting periods, and the judge's order.

Rankin Versus Federal Photos

Rankin County booking photos should not be confused with MDOC, BOP, or ICE records. MDOC's inmate search covers sentenced Mississippi Department of Corrections custody and community corrections. It is the correct system for Central Mississippi Correctional Facility, Mississippi Correctional Institute for Women, Flowood CWC, Flowood Restitution Center, and Flowood Technical Violation Center. It is not a county jail mugshot gallery for current pretrial detainees.

Federal and immigration custody are also separate. No official BOP or ICE detention facility was located inside Rankin County in the research. The BOP inmate locator covers people in Federal Bureau of Prisons custody or released from BOP since 1982, while ICE ODLS searches immigration detention by A-number and country of birth or biographical information. Federal mugshots are generally not published in BOP or ICE locators. VINELink may support custody notifications where Mississippi facilities participate, but it does not replace the county roster's booking-photo modal.

A person arrested in Rankin County can still move between systems. A county booking may later become an MDOC sentence, a federal case, a USMS hold, or an immigration matter. The photo source follows that custody path. County jail photos come from the Rankin roster or RCSD records request, state-prison lookup moves to MDOC, and federal or immigration searches move to federal channels that generally do not publish county-style booking photos.

No Commercial Mugshot Source

Rankin County's official sources are the current-inmates roster, jail information line, and sheriff public-records request path. Commercial mugshot pages are not official county records channels, may copy information from public sources, and may keep material after the county roster has changed. Payment demands or private removal promises should not be confused with a Mississippi court expunction, a sealed record, or a sheriff record correction.

For a court-clearing route, use the criminal case and expunction process discussed under Court Records After Jail Arrest. For a county-held booking report or photo, use the RCSD public-records request form. For custody status, use the roster, jail information line, MDOC, BOP, ICE, or VINELink according to the person's actual custody category.
